December 2012. It was an early, cloudy Central Coast morning when I set out with camera, tripod, and my ND1000 filter to capture the wonder and beauty of the area I come from. I shot California Shell Beach Rocks (below) on this day and recently made it into my vision of what I wanted it to be.
My intention was to begin a black and white series of mostly long exposure photographs of the ocean and shoreline between Oso Flaco and Avila Beach all the way up to the Monterey Peninsula. It has grown to include color and experimenting with techniques I previously had not tried.
While on the coast again in August, I bought a Tiffen 77VND (77MM VARIABLE ND FILTER) so I could work on refining these new techniques with a little more control. For those of you that are looking for such a filter, I can highly recommend it.
